Community Guidelines
Since we are here to have fun, but we’re also a “community”, SkiSpace does have a few content guidelines that we’ve created in order to ensure that every user can enjoy SkiSpace safely and responsibly. While we all like to bend the rules now and then, these few guidelines are here for a reason, so we’ll ask you please to abide by them.

The SkiSpace Do's --
• Do upload only your own photos and videos.
We take copyrights very seriously. If you don't own the rights to a photo or video, please don't post it. And remember that it’s really lame to post other people's photos as your own.

• Do respect others users.
We may be a pretty tight community with common interests, but we also come from diverse backgrounds and regions. This means that respect for other people's thoughts, beliefs and media properties must be a top priority.

• Do Follow the guideines.
Please don't make us constantly have to warn you about not following our guidelines. Consistent breaking of site rules will result in your profile being deleted.

• Do spread the word about SkiSpace to all the like-minded people you know.
By all means share SkiSpace with all your friends and let the world know about our great community. We’re here for us all and we’re here to grow!

• Do Share your snow life with the world.
Our site allows you to tell the world about yourself and your snow passions. Take complete advantage of SkiSpace in any way you want…just keep reading for the few ways we ask you not to. Otherwise, MAKE IT YOURS!

• BUT...
DO also play it safe when you decide to hook up with others. Always take the time to be cautious. Don’t give out all of your personal information if you just connected online and don’t know the person or people in common. Arrange to meet strangers in public places. While we’ve tried to make SkiSpace as safe as possible, we can’t screen all members for you, so it’s your responsibility to take that into consideration. Like everything else, use your brain and remember to have FUN, but be SAFE.

The SkiSpace Taboos --
• Don't verbally abuse other users
There’s no reason for verbal abuse in any way, shape or form. SkiSpace asks that remember to treat people as if you were talking face to face with them and we don’t tolerate bullies.

• Don't upload tasteless and pornographic material.
There are plenty of places on the internet where you can upload and view pornography and shocking photos and video, but Skispace isn’t one of them. It isn’t cool, so just DON’T do it!

• Absolutely DON’T do anything illegal on our site.
If you do, we will not be amused, and will be happy to report you to the proper authorities.

• Don't SPAM other members.
Seriously, only losers do that. If you want to write someone a message, write them a personal original message. Mass spamming is just tasteless and we know YOU are better than that!

• Don't try to sell products, other sites, or yourself on SkiSpace.
We’re here to share, but not to be a sales and marketing outlet for you.

Failure to follow these guidelines will first be met with a possible deletion of your account if the behavior continues. These guidelines are meant to keep SkiSpace an amazing and friendly place for all our users. If you don't agree, then please stop here and find another site to join.

Lastly, a little something about our DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) take- down rules and requests.

It’s our policy to respond as quickly as possible to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement. Here are a few things designed to make submitting notices of alleged infringements as straightforward as possible while reducing the number of notices that we receive that are fraudulent or difficult to understand and verify. The form of notice specified below is consistent with the form suggested by the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (the text of which can be found at the U.S. Copyright Office Web Site, http://www.copyright.gov) but we will respond to notices of this form from other jurisdictions as well.

To submit a notice of infringement with us please send the following information to abuse@pathconnect.com:

1. Identify in sufficient detail the copyrighted work that you believe has been infringed upon (for example, "The copyrighted work at issue is the text that appears on http://www.legal.com/legal_page.html) or other information sufficient to specify the copyrighted work being infringed (for example, "The copyrighted work at issue is the “Touch Not This Cat” by Dudley Smith, published by Smith Publishing, ISBN #0123456789").

2. Identify the material that you claim is infringing the copyrighted work listed in item #1 above.

3. Provide information, if possible, sufficient to permit PathConnect to notify the owner/administrator of the allegedly infringing content (email address is preferred).

4. Include the following statement: "I have a good faith belief that use of the copyrighted materials described above as allegedly infringing is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."

5. Include the following statement: "I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed."

Please note that you will be liable for damages (including costs and attorneys' fees) if you materially misrepresent that a product or activity is infringing your copyrights.

Counter Notification

The provider of affected content may make a counter notification pursuant to sections 512(g)(2) and (3) of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. When we receive a counter notification, we may reinstate the material in question.

To file a counter notification with us, you must provide a written communication (by fax or regular mail -- not by email, except by prior agreement) that sets forth the items specified below.

Please note that you will be liable for damages (including costs and attorneys' fees) if you materially misrepresent that a product or activity is not infringing the copyrights of others. Accordingly, if you are not sure whether certain material infringes the copyrights of others, we suggest that you first contact an attorney. A sample counter notification may be found at: www.chillingeffects.org/dmca/counter512.pdf.
